Hello! Welcome to my portfolio! In case you are curious here is a bit of my story
I've always liked to draw, I also like buildings, animals and plants, but I found that I couldn't even get close to a medicine class, so I put science aside and chose to study architecture. Then I realized what I really enjoyed was creating human scale spaces, cozy corners, secret gardens, and I changed to a technical degree in interior design.
That gave me the opportunity to work abroad and finally step on a plane that took me across the ocean. I've always liked geography and listening to other travelers stories. Now I was discovering the world!
This was a big turning point in my life, I came back home dreaming (more than ever) with faraway lands. So I took a job that had nothing to do with design hoping that it would allow me to travel more (which fortunately did!). And I stopped drawing for a while...
One night in 2011, before going to sleep, I took a pen and sketch the photo of Notre Dame that was staring at me from the laptop's desktop. I hung it in the wardrobe door and from then on I kept scribbling and drawing until months later the door was covered in illustrations. Drawing again for fun made me realize how much I've missed it and the need I have to express my inner world in shapes and colors began to flow. That was the rebirth of my passion. That was the origin of betitu's quest, the beginning of my search as an illustrator.
¡Hola! ¡Bienvenidos a mi portfolio! En caso de que tengas curiosidad, aquí cuento un poco de mi historia.
Siempre me ha gustado dibujar, también me gustan los edificios, los animales y las plantas, pero descubrí que ni siquiera podía acercarme a una clase de medicina, así que dejé la ciencia de lado y opté por estudiar arquitectura. Luego me di cuenta de que lo que realmente disfrutaba era crear espacios a escala humana, rincones acogedores, jardines secretos, y cambié a un grado técnico en diseño de interiores.
Eso me dio la oportunidad de trabajar en el extranjero y finalmente subirme a un avión que me llevó al otro lado del océano. Siempre me ha gustado la geografía y escuchar las historias de otros viajeros. ¡Ahora era yo quien estaba descubriendo el mundo!
Este fue un gran punto de inflexión en mi vida, volví a casa soñando (más que nunca) con tierras lejanas. Así que acepté un trabajo que no tenía nada que ver con el diseño con la esperanza de que me permitiera viajar más (¡lo que afortunadamente fue así!). Y dejé de dibujar por un tiempo ...
Una noche de 2011, antes de irme a dormir, tomé una fibra de tinta negra e hice un croquis de la foto de Notre Dame que me miraba desde el escritorio de la computadora. Lo colgué en la puerta del armario y a partir de ahí seguí garabateando y dibujando hasta que meses más tarde la puerta quedó cubierta de ilustraciones. Volver a dibujar por diversión me hizo darme cuenta de cuánto lo extrañaba y la necesidad que tengo de expresar mi mundo interior en formas y colores comenzó a fluir. Ese fue el renacimiento de mi pasión. Ese fue el origen de betitu's quest, el comienzo de mi búsqueda como ilustradora.
